Do you think going green is tough?
You know you should do it, but the thought of changing every light bulb or buying new appliances seems overwhelming.
But, let’s face it:
If we want a healthy planet, we must begin to live a greener lifestyle. You hear stories about climate change and how our day-to-day living can leave a huge carbon footprint.
At Tekoia, we recently launched a green awareness campaign called #TrashTheRemote. We want to preserve our environment and raise awareness of the number of batteries people dump into landfills every year.
So, to help get you started on being greener, we share 25 easy ways to go green without busting the bank.
1. Avoid Disposable Cups and Cutlery
A fast and easy way to go green is to ditch the disposable dinnerware and opt for some reusable ones.
Just load up your picnic basket with reusable plates, cups, and cutlery – and enjoy a day out with loved ones.
Nowadays, you can have an entire set made out of bamboo or you can purchase sets in different colors. They’re light, portable and easy to pack.

2. Carpool With Your Buddies
Cars and other vehicles contribute to the growing problem of air pollution. Cut your carbon footprint in half by carpooling.
You can set up a time with your co-workers or friends to catch a ride to work or an event.
If no one has a ride why not use Uber?
Uber offers UberPOOL. Share your ride and save the cost. Uber does the work for you and matches your destination with someone close by.
So have fun and be green!

3. Reduce the Amount of Batteries You Use
Batteries can clutter up your home pretty quick, right?
You might stuff them in your “junk” drawer in the kitchen, or hide them in the laundry room – away from your children. You may even put some in your closet to keep close by.
Even the guys over at Buzzfeed know how batteries can rule your life. They looked at ways to de-clutter and suggested to use compartmentalized boxes.
But, a green way is to reduce the amount of batteries you have and opt to use a universal remote app.
This cuts down on your battery usage and frees up even more space in your home.

4. Create a Charging Station for Your Gadgets
While it’s probably impossible to completely stop using batteries, you can switch your remaining batteries for rechargeable ones.
This makes it greener by reducing the amount of batteries winding up in landfills all across America.
But, let me guess:
What do you do with those unsightly chargers? Well, Buzzfeed found a unique way you can charge your gadgets without making your counter looking disorganized.
They hid their chargers in a drawer. No wires and no power bar in sight.
