Are you like a kid in a candy store when it comes to downloading apps?
The Google Play Store is an app-lover’s paradise. With over one million applications now available, there’s bound to be an app for any person of any age or interest.
What was once a novel experience, apps are now commonplace on everyone’s phones. According to a Neilson study, there’s an upper limit – around 26 – to how many apps a typical person will use in any given month.
But that doesn’t stop users from downloading more and more apps each week. Most people have hundreds and hundreds of apps on their phone. And this all leads to app burnout.
App burnout happens when there are too many apps to choose from and you end up paralyzed, unable to make a choice.
But, how do you know if you’re heading for app burnout? Here are four signs you may be suffering from app burnout without realizing it.
1. You Have More Apps Than You Use
If you have more apps on your phone than your teenage daughter, then you’re heading on a one-way ticket to app burnout city.
Sure, it’s fun to download a new app or try out a couple of productivity apps to compare, but if you don’t even know how many apps you really do have, it’s time to put the smartphone down.
2. You Can’t Find the App You Want
Do you find your self swishing and scrolling through your apps page after page on your mobile phone trying to find the app you want.
You end up spending more time scrolling than you do actually using the app.
If this is you, beware you might have app burnout.
3. Your Notifications Are Filled With Pop Up Ads
Do you constantly get pop up notifications on your mobile phone at the worst times? And the most annoying part is, you don’t even know which app is doing this?
If this is happening to you, here’s a quick tutorial to find the app culprit:
4. You Only Really Use 5% of Your Total Apps
Face it:
Even though you have hundreds of apps on your Android phone, in actuality, you likely use only a handful of apps in any given day.
What does this tell you?
Either the interest factor on those other apps is next to nil or you like looking and downloading apps more than actually using them.
If you find you have no interest in most of your apps, it’s time to delete them or replace them with a more efficient app.
Use Smarter Apps, Not More Apps
It’s time to audit your apps and get rid of ones that just aren’t working for you. You might even find yourself having an app for each device you have in your home.
Do you have a Roku app?
How about a LG TV Remote app?
Maybe you also have a Roomba touch drive app?
If that’s the case, you have app burnout. Simplify your life by ditching those other device-specific apps and downloading our SURE Universal app. You only need our one, single app to control your devices.
