Summer movie nights are always a great pleasure. Combining it with delicious snacks recipes is even greater!

Don’t you love when the weather gets warmer?

No more wearing boots, coats or scarves. Instead, you’re free to run around in your flip-flops, shorts and sunglasses.

Summer is also a great time to kick back, take a breather and relax. Whether you are throwing a summer BBQ party, going to the lake to do some water skiing, or just wanting to break in your DIY entertainment center, this is the time to do it.

And what’s great about summer is finally having the time to relax and catch up on some movies. Try making every Friday a family movie night – just don’t forget the snacks or your SURE Universal remote!

To kick summer into gear, here are our favorite summer snacks to munch on when you’re watching a movie. All of these you can make at home too!

1. The Classic Root Beer Float

he Classic Root Beer Float

Who doesn’t like ice cream and root beer? A classic drink from back in the day, the Root Beer float is a variation of the traditional ice cream float.

When the A&W restaurant chain started popping up in the States and Canada, the Root Beer float emerged.

If you’re not a fan of root beer, why not try a Brown Cow instead? Just pour some Coca-Cola in a glass and top it with a scoop of chocolate ice cream.

There are a dozen different ways you can make an ice cream float, but the tried and true Root Beer float wins the hearts of many people.

2. S’mores

Yes! The greatest snack ever invented, right? While many think of S’mores as the go-to food for campers, it really is an all-around snack food. And it’s perfect for your movie night too.

S’mores are little graham cracker sandwiches with chocolate and melted marshmallow.

This snack is perfect for your backyard campfire – they can also be made in the microwave – and it makes a great tasting snack for a movie too!

3. Banana Split

Who doesn’t like a banana split? Sliced bananas, ice cream, syrup, whipped cream, nuts and a cherry on top. Delicious!

For movie night, why not splurge a little and make your family some tasty banana splits?

Customize each one by having a variety of choices to choose from – chocolate ice cream, vanilla ice cream, sprinkles, M&M’s, raspberries, strawberries, and the list could go on.

4. Homemade Popsicles

Kids love them and adults do too.

On hot summer days, the one thing that can cool almost everybody down is a Popsicle. They’re easy to make at home, and they can be healthy too.

Use a no-calorie or low-calorie fruit drink as the base and add pieces of fruit to your Popsicle tray. For the adults, slip in some liquor too!

Well, these chocolate covered bananas might. They’re super easy to make and you don’t need a lot of ingredients either.
