It’s time to look at the oddest remote control devices around.
At Tekoia, we celebrate the remote. From fun pranks to just the strangest looking types of remotes out there, we like to see how remote controls make our lives happier and easier.
So, if you could snap your fingers, and suddenly control your gadgets, appliances, and even your animals all from the comfort of your La-Z-Boy chair, what would you use first?
Let’s look at the seven oddest remote control devices people have designed.
1. R2-D2 Mini Beer Fridge
Just imagine – it’s been a long day at work. You’re tired and thirsty.
You sit down, turn on the TV and instead of getting up to get your beverage, R2-D2 brings you a cold, refreshing drink.
That’s right, you heard us correctly.
R2-D2, from the greatest movie ever made, Star Wars, brings you a beer, or water, or a can of your favorite soft drink. The R2-D2 rechargeable mobile fridge makes the same sounds as his character in the movie and oddly enough, looks real.
2. Remote Control Life Guard
Now, who wouldn’t want to be rescued by remote control?
EMILY is a remote-controlled lifeguard. She’s a buoy shape watercraft with floatation devices she uses for rescues. She races at a fast 35 km and can safely and quickly help people better than any human or helicopter.
EMILY stands for Emergency Integrated Lifesaving Lanyard. EMILY is limited in her ability to fully save a person. She cannot save an unconscious swimmer or drive them back to shore.
EMILY can, however, swiftly get to a struggling swimmer – assuming the swimmer can hold on and wait. A lifeguard or boat can then go out and retrieve the pair.
3. Remote Control Your Cat or Dog
Yes, that’s right. You can control your beloved cat or dog via remote control.
Strap the collar-type device on your pet dog or cat and let them run free. You can speak to your pooch (or kitty) via the remote from up to 12 miles away – and it can also be used as a geo-tracking mechanism.
So now you never have to lose your dog or cat again!
4. Cool Air Swimmers
Everyone is a kid at heart, right? Especially when it comes to remote control toys. Well, the Air Swimmer creates hours of indoor fun.
These helium filled balloons float in the air in a life-like motion. You can choose from a variety of sea animals including shark, clownfish, and bass. And if you’re an Angry Birds fan, they have one of those as well.
5. Remote Control Toilet
Japan has released the Remote Control Japanese Style Toilet for the consumer.
This isn’t a real toilet, by the way. It’s about the size of a standard remote control car.
So, have fun playing with it!
6. Remote Control Tissue Box
Now, why would anyone want a remote control tissue box?
Maybe you would need it if you used up the last tissue and you’re too weak to stand up and grab another box.
Whatever the case may be, you can purchase this tissue box for your own needs.
7. Remote Control Airport
And the biggest and oddest remote control device goes to a Swedish Airport in Ornskoldsvik. This is the first ever remote control airport.
Traffic controllers are training on this new system to guide virtually all airplanes landing at the airport. Sweden is going forward on this new concept for safety measures and for better efficiency.
