Tekoia’s Android app allows users to control the connected home using IR and WiFi connectivity.
There are a lot of universal remote controls out there—including apps that can turn your favorite portable into a remote. However, most of these are designed for controlling one thing or even just your AV setup. Tekoia is hoping to make the SureMote app stand out by adding in a few home automation capabilities.
The SureMote app was recently updated to add in control of IR-operated air conditioners and WiFi-enabled security cameras. This means that you can use the app to cool down a room’s temperature before you arrive home from work or check in on a camera’s live video feed and pan-tilt-zoom to get a better peek at your house.

It also gives you an easy way to get little taste of home automation, as well as control smart TVs and legacy IR media appliances. The SureMote can control LED lighting and even select iRobot Roomba products. Also worth noting is that the WiFi support makes it possible to use the app on media streamers such as Roku, Google Chromecast and Apple TV. It also means that SureMote users can stream photos, music and video from any smartphone to a smart TV.
