Last month we had a chance to view some of the best and innovative tech gadgets to date.
Representatives of Tekoia, including our CEO and Founder, Victor Ariel, attended the CES Asia event, which spanned three days from May 25-27 in Shanghai China.
This is the second time we have attended CES conferences and China proved to be an exceptional event.
The 2015 CES Asia tech trade show showcased innovation in the consumer technology industry. Key businesses from around the globe attended the event to promote their brand and showcase their latest products.
The Chinese Just Make Things Happen
The Chinese have an incredible way of making things happen. An example of this is that we needed a TV for the demos that would take place in our booth. We went in search for an electrical appliance shop and found a very nice shop with extremely helpful staff, however, we learned that the Chinese don’t actually purchase from these shops, they are really just showrooms. They purchase via the Internet.
When the staff realized we were in desperate need of a TV they let us purchase one from the showroom floor and also helped us arrange a taxi to get it to the event hall.
Great people and great service!
The CES Asia Event
More than 200 exhibitors who represented 16 different countries filled the arena and the event was a tremendous success with the president and CEO of CES, Gary Shapiro, commenting,“CES Asia was by every measure a world-class launch, setting the bar for high-quality events in the region in terms of industry attendance, production value, conference programming, product introductions and the ability to bring together some of the brightest minds in the industry.”
The Internet of Things (IoT): A Key Theme of 2015 CES Asia
Fourteen categories were focused on during this 3-day event, including:
- 3D printing
- Automotive
- Green technologies
- Home entertainment
- Mobile
- Robotics
- Smart home
- Video/4K Ultra HD
Throughout the event, a key theme dominated – the Internet of things (IoT). Internet connectivity and the growing innovations in smart devices is propelling the ever expansion of IoT – and SURE Universal Remote app is a part of this growth.
Smartwatches
Some popular devices showcased during our visit included Smartwatches.
Smartwatches always bring a swarm of viewers to see the latest designs. This time was no exception. Garmin unveiled a sleek new smartwatch – Vivoactive – with lifestyle tracking apps, built-in GPS and much more.
Smart Eyeglasses
Sony unveiled the SmartEyeGlass Attach Augmented Reality Glasses at CES this year.
This particular device, which attaches to your standard eyeglasses, enhances physical experiences. Runners can use it to help them find new routes or navigate around a city.
It’s still in the demo stage and only time will tell if this will be the new way we view the world.
Smart Home Platform
Home automation was another central theme in this year’s CES Asia. In fact, JD We Lian Smart Home Platform won the Best Smart Home Product award.
Remotely controlling home appliances is becoming more and more popular with many companies coming up with their own version.
Our Booth Was Packed
Exhibitors, distributors, media executives, manufacturers, product designers and more dominated the venue.
Our booth proved to be a popular choice for the 20,000 attendees. It was packed throughout the three days we were there.
During our time there we met with top executives in leading Chinese companies and had an opportunity to have an in-depth discussion with IBM China.
Because of the huge success we are having in China and the ever-growing popularity of our universal remote app there, we recently translated our site for our Chinese audience. The SURE Universal Remote app is already translated into Chinese.
We Can’t Wait to Go Again
Being in a room with other innovators, designers, and tech people is always a fresh breath of air for us.
Seeing our users, talking to them and learning from them was one of the highlights we enjoyed.
We also met other business colleagues and leaders in our industry. We had an exceptional time during our stay in Shanghai and the Chinese always have a way of making the impossible happen!
We look forward to attending CES again.
