Microcrystalline Wax
Microcrystalline wax is obtained from petroleum distillation residual heavy fractions by solvent separation, refining and hydrogenation. It is a combination of branched and straight chain saturated hydrocarbons with carbon numbers greater than 35. Unlike paraffin waxes, microcrystalline waxes have very minute crystals and areelastic, adhesive, withagreateraffinity foroil. Microcrystalline wax is widely used in chewing gum, candy and other foods and pharmaceutical.
