How to Modify a System on Your Universal Remote Control App

01 Dec 2015

Are you having fun playing with your SURE Universal app?

Hopefully you’re no longer stressing over finding a lost remote control. Have you done any pranks on your friends yet?

We recently wrote about a neat feature where you can group multiple devices together with one press of the SURE Universal remote. It’s such a handy, time saving feature and the feedback we’ve been getting about it has all been positive.

When you group multiple devices together in the SURE Universal app, we call that creating a “system.” Once you’ve got things all set up, you might be wondering why you would need to modify your system in the first place.

Let’s look at four reasons.

1. Introduce or Remove a Device

Maybe you purchased a new electronic device like an Apple TV, or decided to move your Smart TV to another room.

If you grouped your appliances in one room and decided to move one of them – or introduce another gadget – you’re going to have to modify your system.

2. Delegating One-Button Power

When you first set up the app and group your appliances, you’ll want to define which devices turn on and off at the same time.

What if you want to change which devices do that? You’ll have to go and modify your system.

3. Define the Main Media Source

If you have a new device for your main media source, you’re going to have to modify the SURE Universal app to include it in your system.

4. Define the Audio/Sound Output

This comes in handy when you need to define which device is the audio/sound output. For example, if you have a Roku, you can define that as your media source and your TV as the audio.

How to Get Started

On your systems screen, click “modify.” From there, all your designated systems will show up. Pick the system you want to modify and continue by clicking the right arrow at the bottom of your screen.

Adding or Deleting Devices

Click on “device list.” From here you can add or deselect devices on your list.

Adding or Removing Devices for the One-Button Power

From the list, choose, “One-Button Power.” Make sure to click on the right arrow at the bottom of the screen to continue.

Here you can select or deselect devices you want powered with on/off by the system power button.

Changing the Media Source

Click on the “Media/Content Source” button. Click the right arrow and select the device you want to play audio or video.

Changing Audio/Sound

On the screen, click the “Audio/Sound Output” button. On the next screen, choose the device that will control the audio.

If you selected a TV, you could continue by clicking the right arrow at the bottom of your screen. But, if you selected an AV Receiver, click on, “Select Input.” Then select the input type.

Once you’ve modified your system, click the right arrow at the bottom, wait a few seconds and poof! Like magic, your systems are modified.

Enjoy!

    Hi.

    Your app is really great.

I wanted to ask if you could fix the “bass” button on the Audio-reciever / Insignia NS-SB 314 soundbar.

All the other buttons are working fine, but the bass just won’t turn on/off from the remote.

    Thanks

I have a problem with a few of my devices. When I want to change sound or channel, it jumps 2 at a time. In other words, when changing volume, it goes from say 2 to 4 and not 3.
